Weekly Market Recap – 8/15/14

Stocks continue to climb the proverbial wall of worry, with global unrest and economic disappointment apparently posing no lasting obstacle to rising stock prices (although the Dow is up only 1% in 2014 and some small-cap indexes are still below beginning-of-the-year levels). This week, Wall Street’s eyes and ears turn their focus to the Fed’s economic confab in Jackson Hole for clues to where monetary policy, which has been a driving force behind the bull market, might be heading.
